ABC Family

Here you will find a little about me and my family. ABC Literacy is inspired by my three children: Addison, Brooke, and Cale! I have spent my entire life reading and sharing books with my own children to help with their reading and writing struggles. I have spent many years reading to them and also teaching them their ABC’s and finally became determined to find the missing link. After much research I began training to become a Barton Reading and Spelling tutor which is based on the Orton Gillingham Method. I was a volunteer for their schools in various ways including teaching Art, working in the lunch room, organizing class parties, and assisting with Reading Counts. I am the Manager for my son’s soccer team and have experience working with children ages 0-100 In the Daycare/After Care/ Special Needs settings as well as working with patients that have Dementia and Alzheimer’s and special needs.

I found it very important to bring Christ back into my child’s Education. This was a large factor for our transition to homeschool. In 2020 we dove in head first and haven’t stopped since. I found a local Co-Op to teach at and be involved in as well as a local Church we love!

We are active in sports as a family from soccer, go kart racing, swim team, and now Karate! We enjoy hiking and spending time at our little house on the prairie!

I look forward to working with your children and bringing literacy and enrichment into their lives!
